The U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) is planning to implement cybersecurity regulations for cyber breaches and data security of hospitals and health systems. HSS is the cabinet level Government Agency that provides health and human services and promotes research in social services, medicine, and public health through agencies that include the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) (https://lnkd.in/esG-dapg). HHS plans to take the following steps:

1. Establishing voluntary cybersecurity goals for the healthcare sector.
2. Providing resources to incentivize and implement cybersecurity practices.
3. Implementing an HHS-wide strategy to support greater enforcement and accountability.
4. Expanding and maturing the one-stop shop within HHS for healthcare sector cybersecurity.
