A nice article that raises questions of how can cyber companies can be struggling in a market that is quoted as being worth billions, and at a time when Cyber is seeing the biggest transformation in history. As U.S and EU regulators move to regulate boards to implement cyber. Regulation that is going to effect thousands of companies trading in or with the U.S and EU.
With all the hype of AI, and cybersecurity, how does a product like Darktrace struggle to find profit in this global market? Or for that matter why are cyber firms laying off in such large numbers (https://lnkd.in/eE7Mmxpp). Maybe to much hype and poorly equipped investors.
Ted Dziekanowski, short sellers, and activist shareholders are and will have a field day with cyber companies and U.S and EU cyber regulated entities. As they realize the impact poor cybersecurity has on board room liabilities and share price. As covered firms fess up to their sins, or try to hide them at risk regulatory attention.
For Dark trace, there is a wave of threats and opportunities. Both regulated entities, and the right security vendors may need each other. But beware the risks, the SEC and EU have deep pockets, and it ain’t fun sitting in front of a regulator or lawyer explaining regulatory compliance. For those that cannot, your days maybe numbered.
