The SEC is not so much on a mission to tame America’s financial markets, it’s on a mission to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation (its mission)

One must not forget that U.S capital markets are the largest in the world. They facilitate registrants access capital to build and grow their businesses, ecomonic properity and security. We all rely on capital markets, they evolve over time, as economic prosperity, innovation and technology changes.

Being parochial, cyber is a significant risk to financial markets and their registrants. It is a risk that has been demonstrated many times to have adversely effected market registrants. It is a risk that the SEC now effectively regulates. Demonstrating how the regulator aims to tame cyber risk management, in lock step with its mission.
