There are much bigger issues ahead with the S in ESG as those FS institutions will be assessing to the cyber risk associated with the cyber risk of defense Contractors.

Last weeks SEC cyber ruling effects UK defense contractors FIs listed in the U.S. Also UK defense contractor’s that have to implement the DoD CMMC program to maintain contracts with U.S primes. (See the Bank of Of Americas conversation re cyber insurance and Lloyds exclusion clause)

ESG is part of the Credit risk process of private sector firms, as is an assessmemt of cyber risk against credit risk.

The UK public defense sector will have little choice but embrace cyber regulation if it wants access to U.S capital markets.
