Covington must hand over the names of some of its clients effected by a data beach in 2020.

Striking a middle ground as the court ordered Covington to provide the SEC with the names of 7 public companies effected by the data breach.

‘An internal review by the firm had identified seven companies that may have had market-relevant information accessed in the hack, according to court filings.’

In what is going to raise concerns about freedom of personal data on one hand and the requirement of the SEC to protect shareholders on the other.
