Thank you for posting Olaf Classen. There are plenty of reports that demonstrate that Cyber-crime is more profitable than cocaine production in the 1970’s, generates more income than the drugs trade, prostitution and human tracking. As one posted earlier this week ransomware attacks are significantly up on H1 2023 vs. H1 2022. Why wouldn’t ransomware grow, as the old saying goes ‘it is like taking candy from a baby’?

What is interesting in is the U.S Department of Treasury reissued guidance on the payment of ransomware. Again stating that if a person, entity or nation is on an OFAC list, then the payment of a ransomware by a U.S citizen is illegal. With Civil and Criminal penalties.

Olaf, it would be great to see the source of this graph.
