A great article. Cybersecurity is a continuum, it is not a defined state of success or failure. While one has sometimes used the term ‘cyber war’, there should be a recognition that cybersecurity and risk management is a continual process. Accepting that some are not yet on the bus, some are on the front seats and others further back (think J. Kotter).

Cyber is not an exercise in kinetic warfare, there is no defined tangible enemy, on one side of a line. The threat can be from a kid in a bed room (Lapsus$) through to a nation state (Clop). Nor is cyber an academic exercise, with cyber regulation driving everyone onto the bus, and over time to the back seat.

So maybe it’s not a war that one is fighting, maybe its a journey and cyber regulation is going to require everyone to decide the path they want to take for compliance.
