Ted Dziekanowski, the cyber certification debate is heating up as U.S Chamber of commerce members raise concerns to EU Member States, regulators and regulatory enforcement agencies to ‘firmly reject the proposed sovereignty requirements in the EU Cloud Services Certification’.

Data sovereignty is just one issue ahead as the EU cyber regulatory agenda moves quickly creating a harmonized framework of cyber regulations across CNI, FIs, ICT and cloud providers and the manufacturers and distributors of internet enabled tech. That includes Cloud, MSPs and Managed Service Security providers.

Requiring the adoption of cybersecuirty risk management, the cyber certification of digital product and services, and options for civil and criminal penalties levied at organizations and individuals, if organizations want to operate in the EU. Cybersecurity regulation and compliance is increasingly looking as though it will become a requirement for trade on both sides of the Atlantic.

Cyber is moving ‘Left of Bang’ and as the article alludes those involved in trade are concerned.
