We have written many times that the development of cyber regulation is now an important tool to facilitate cybersecurity risk management. Along with regulation comes the need to ensure that there is harmonisation and standardization of cybersecurity legal, regulatory and compliance frameworks, to ensure that a common bar for regulatory compliance is set between partner nations.

Cyber regulation is now being developed and implemented by various nations. If the harmonisation and standardization of cyber regulation, legal and compliance frameworks is not achieved there will be bigger consequences for national, organizational and economic security as countries work to different compliance bars and set different standards for cyber that will affect international trade and security.
