Along with EU NIS 2 and DORA the CRA is a critical leg of the EU’s coordinated strategy for cybersecurity. The development of the EU Cyber resilience Act is well underway. The Swedish government recently took over the EU presidency and has started to work on developing the CRA that requires products with digital elements created, sold and distributed in Europe to introduce cybersecurity security requirements. The CRA is mentioned as a requirement in EU NIS and CRA certified devices can be regulated for implementation by the EU by CNI providers.

The CRA is taking shape and the final draft will be interesting to review. One suspect that there will be allot of toing and froing to get it into a shape that all member states will agree. Especially around industrial control systems. The CRA should not be taken lightly, nor should U.S efforts to implement a similar program.
