The automotive sector is an increasingly problematic sector for cybersecurity. Automotive provides a rich source of personal data, OT and CNI. As we transition to all electric and driverless transport we increase our dependence and the Automotive sector. In turn the automotive sector increases its dependence on cyber risk management.
With EU and U.S regulators focused on CNI, one suspects the automotive sector will be required to step up. Access to capital markets will be predicated on cybersecurity reporting.
One wonders the impact on the insurance market, should a cyberattack affect an automotive.
