Call us now:
Thank you Stephen Pitt-Walker, JD, FGIA, board accountability for cybersecurity is becoming a front and center issue, and one not just for Australian companies. But one for boards of all covered regulated entities.
Ones not convinced that Australia is behind other countries, it is suffering from the same ownership and delivery issues. In fact one would suggest that Australia has moved further forward than many countries in the past 6 months to address regulatory compliance gaps.
Australia is just the latest high profile country for hackers to focus on. History shows us that there are many equally high profile companies that have been hacked in the U.S, Europe America. That have all suffered from the same problems as those in Australia, namely poor cybersecurity risk management, governance, board ownership and delivery.
The hacks have demonstrated that Australia has a way to go, and started the process of acknowledging that cyber is a problem.
