The U.S has announced significant amounts of investment for Electric Vehicle infrastructure, with $5b Billion marked to build national EV charging infrastructure. To deliver charging stations to cover across 75,000 miles of U.S roads.

Along side this White house has made 2 further important recent announcements that will affect EV charging infrastructure. The first in February 2023 (enclosed) announces the creation of new standards to make EV charging convenient and reliable (AKA safe), enforcing EV chargers used in the U.S that include Iron and Steel enclosers to be manufactured and assembled in the U.S, harmonisation of charging infrastructure to ensure infrastructure suits all vehicles.

The second announcement in March 2023 was the White House ONCD National Cyber Strategy. EV charging as been demonstrated to be vulnerable to cyber attacks and with EV charging being CNI, it will fall under the US National Cyber strategy and undoubtedly any regulation that follow on.

One can expect to see more CNI focused cyber regulation over the coming months that will focus on CNI and EV.
