Thank you Ted Dziekanowski. With the ONCD announcement last week and the DoJ releasing its evaluation of corporate compliance programs (https://lnkd.in/eFNHrsuY), it does not feel like chance that we are seeing an alignment between cyber regulation and enforcement regimes. The DoJs compliance evaluation clearly sets out the approach for U.S prosecutors to take to assess corporate risk, the risk management process, risk tailored resources and compliance policies and procedures. Programs that if enforced in court could levy penalties on compliance officers. (https://lnkd.in/e3zUhHs7)

The SEC cybersecurity risk management proposal when released will affect markets, therefore one suspects there is allot of work taking place to ‘cross the T’s and dot the I’s. A regulation that will have a significant impact on corporate governance and corporate compliance programs.
