A nice summary of cyber risk for 2023. As the year looks to be the start of change for cybersecurity, not just because the frequency, severity and complexity of cyber incidents continues to rise. Cyber regulation will play an increasingly important role in cybersecurity in 2023, with further regulations coming from the U.S, EU and APAC regulators and precedent setting enforcement.

2023 will continue to present real issues for the cyber insurance and reinsurance industries. As insurers continue to grapple with how to turn cyber insurance into a viable and profitable line of business. 2023 will also be a year when small and large business start to work through the process of how they are going to transfer risk back to their balance sheets. As cyber moves ‘left of bang’ with cyber regulation, rather than solely relying on cyber insurance.
