The back ground and experience of the U.S first cyber ambassador should set a precedence for other countries. A mix of public and private sector that includes the military.

One believes the biggest challenge the new ambassador faces will be the harmonisation of cybersecurity risk management between the U.S and its partner nationals. U.S national security relies on the cybersecurity of partner nations, through amongst other things the manufacture of U.S weapon systems.

Cyber regulation is developing quickly in the U.S, EU and Australia, requiring closer harmonisation of cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and enforcement aimed at both the public and private sector. Without which the private sector could find that cyber regulation becomes an impediment to trade between partners.
