Is the threat moving from extortion and fraud to asset destruction. As geopolitics moves cyber up a gear, hackers will change their focus as ransomware payments drop, cyber insurance is less effective and regulations push cyber risk management onto the public and private sector.

Will hackers move ‘en-force’ down this road, one suspects it depends on the hacker and their motivations. But we know the nation state groups have a knack of leaving an open door. For those that remember the risk curve I use (https://lnkd.in/dGFVVjCi) page 3. Balancing up cyber risk management between what you can afford to manage and your incident response plan is the right thing to do. If we are moving towards asset destruction then having a fall back position is a must have, albeit it is required.
