Little is known about the attack on the Denmark’s largest train operator DSB, but the train network was compromised last week following an attack on third party supplier. The affected contractor Supeo provides Asset Management solutions to a significant number of Danish private transports companies. The Supeo Sitra solution looks to provide a maintenance scheduling platform for operators (TPM). (https://lnkd.in/eyqz6y_X)

In itself it is concerning that Supeo’s testing environment was compromised. As an aerospace engineer it begs the question, would the Asset Management solution connect to on platform digital assets like PLCs and smart tech for TPM. That would be a rational consideration for life cycle maintenance.

An example of a supply chain hack on an infrastructure operators technology stack. Demonstrating how the compromise of a third parties technology environment can impact in this case, national infrastructure. Sounds a bit like SolarWinds, but with a strong link to physical assets.
