Thank you for posting Corey Munson.

For me the issue is not one of ensuring that products work together. Market forces, and by that I mean software sales have driven the cybersecurity market for years and the lack of board knowledge and support for CISOs has not helped. Cyber attack complexity, frequency and severity of impact is rising, cyber spending is rising and as demonstrated by the recent White House meeting on cybersecurity workforce demonstrate, there aren’t the people to manage the problem. Creating a perfect storm for both sales engineers, regulators, boards and CISOs.

Regulators are looking for demonstrated assurance that cyber risk is being managed and that boards are capable of managing the risk. Technology is not a substitute, it is just an enabler for managing risks. Yes data overload is important, but the real issue for CISOs is going to be demonstrating that they can manage risk, and to do that demonstrating that they have the appropriate controls in place. Whether they are people, process or technology and filtering out the noise will be critical.
