SMEs maybe exposed more from cyber than any other organisation group, as the global economy takes a hit with increased interest rates and inflation.

SMEs are less likely to afford the range of cyber solutions required to manage the risk. Less likely to recruit inhouse cyber expertise and more likely to take significant damage leading to bankruptcy in the event of a ransomware attack. The SME sector is the largest corporate sector for all economies and one that mid sized and large organisations depend upon, within their supply chains.

There is a worrying gap in cyber insurance coverage. Foregoing cyber insurance may not be a wise with cyber attack frequency, complexity and severity continuing to rise and few options available to mitigate the risk.

We discuss the impact of cyber on SMEs and options to improve cybersecurity risk management of SMEs in the medium term here (https://lnkd.in/dYjWv8-5).
