The CMMC AB has rebranded itself at the ‘Cyber Accreditation Body’. A move that may get some cybersecurity accreditation bodies in the industry interested, especially if it plans to spin out its cybersecurity training.
One wonders what will happen when other legislation comes on line such as the SEC cybersecurity proposal, DORA and EU NIS 2.0. Traditional cybersecurity training models only address specific aspects of cybersecurity risk management requirements, namely cybersecurity practice compliance. Risk management training is required to address risk assessment methods and their application, that is only offered by a few providers. Or alternative a combined cybersecurity risk management, governance and strategy program Ted Dziekanowski
One differentiator for the AB is (if it stays in place) the oversight and assurance of the DIB contractors under CMMC. However public DIB contractors will have to keep an eye on the SEC cybersecurity risk management proposal, the draft Federal Data privacy law and state level laws. If or when they come into force CUI be one of several data types that a DIB prime and its contractors will have to focus upon under a CSF profile. Backed by Federal and State regulatory enforcement programs.
