There are few alternatives to enable cybersecurity compliance across Primes supply chains that includes SMEs other than using cloud to centralise CUI and enable controls inheritance. Utilising CPAs enables oversight and assurance.
With the SECs recent proposal it raises the questions on how will Prime contractors meet both DoD and SEC requirements for oversight and assurance. The SEC is looking for cybersecurity risk management and the DoD for controls effectiveness compliance.
