Call us now:
Are we at a pivot point with cyberspace and the application of international law? Traditional rules of engagement and domains of operation do not apply in cyberspace and cyber related attacks are difficult to trace and legally enforce.
This is a very interesting article on the future of international law and politics as it relates to cyberspace. The role that technology and cyber space has played in international politics and relations, and how they are challenging the legal concepts of international relations.
Cybersecurity risk management is slowly being regulated ‘left and right’ of bang by governments in response to increases in cyber related incidents, that in most case are instigated by nation-state hackers and their proxies.
Attacks that are testing the rule of law, international politics and relations. In my view driving cybersecurity risk management compliance of governments and organisations. As there is no lender or insurer of last resort and cybersecurity compliance maybe the only viable alternative, why?
1. There is little hope of redress following a cyber attack.
2. Cyber insurance will not cover all costs.
3. Supply chains can be fragile (JIT) and cyber attacks in supply chains can affect the customer facing value chain.
4. Cybersecurity risk is being regulated if companies want access to markets or contracts.
5. Market forces are not working.
