Cybersecurity and the role of the board. Congress, CISA, the Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Defence have pushed cybersecurity risk management into the board room. The SEC proposals are akin to Sarbanes Oxley, coming at a time when cybersecurity is discussed as a geopolitical threat, of cyber underinvestment, and under resourcing.
Cyber legislation and regulation are on the rise, and it is highly likely that the Board room will have to put focus on cyber if they want to avoid regulatory scrutiny.
