If correct then Russian energy providers may own more than just the gas being pumped through the pipes into Germany.
If they own storage facilities, that maybe empty, then it may go some way to explain the concern in Germany for it energy supply. It also adds questions about the pre-planning of the Ukraine war ahead of the international condemnation of the attacks.
Cord Bockhop is a district administrator in the Diepholz district in Lower Saxony. Germany’s largest gas storage facility in Rehden, south of Bremen, extends up to five kilometres from his office building. According to the operator, around two million single-family homes could be supplied with the content for a whole year. The problem: The memory is practically empty – and has been for months. Bockhop, who has been in the CDU for many years, is now thinking about radical solutions. If the operator does not refill soon, expropriation is the keyword.
Any thoughts?
