A challenge all industry sectors are facing. Is it about time that there was constant agreed standards adopted by all countries to baseline cyber security compliance and help manage defensive cyber?
If not we are in danger of creating difference standards, adopted by Nation states, creating an uneven playing field, impacting world trade (countries may not deal with organisations in different jurisdictions), National Security through different defensive strategies, even market and corporate competitive advantage.
The world is changing, the Colonial attack is one example of how cyber is transforming into the other field of operations, described by NATO. But who will manage cyber for corporate America, Europe, Asia and India. Who will set the standards to secure the products and services we consume in the future?
