When the 2021 Defence Authorisation Act gets signed the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Policy will be changed to Assistant Secretary of Defense, requiring Senate confirmation. Elevating the role and profile of the DIB under the US Secretary of Defence, at a time when the US DoD is increasing its oversight of supply chain and cyber security.
