Alongside a global internet policy, the world needs support in setting global cyber security policies and standards. Without which we risk building tiered systems of security between countries and different standards of security compliance for organisations operating across international boarders.

Whilst this is unlikely to happen any time soon we are seeing industry sectors such as defence adopting common cyber standards. The DoD as the Defence Industry Base (DIB) customer is reaffirming the adoption of cyber security standards (NIST and additional CMMC) across its global supply chain and for good reasons.

Enforcing the oversight and assurance of contractual requirements, which will likely set the defacto international cyber standard for defence suppliers, supply chain security and procurement.
