Its been a week where the European Union and the UK governments have introduced proposals which restrict the sale of companies and products in the interest of national security and human rights. The UK Government has introduced a bill which updates powers to block foreign take overs of companies if they threaten national security (https://lnkd.in/d3A3tXb) and the EU has introduced a new rule which governs the export of goods, software and technology with civilian applications that might be repurposed to be used in ways which violate human rights.

They echo more recent moves by the US to restrict the sale of products and services to Federal Government under Section 889 of the National Defence Authorisation Act.
