Japan is a culture which is very sensitive to controversy, and cyber attacks are controversial. They cause embarrassment and uncertainty and in a culture which prides itself on stability, control and management oversight. The destructive nature and intrusion created by a cyber attack will be felt.

If Mitsubishi electric a company which is so well integrated into Japans defense and infrastructure industries, did suffer a cyber attack and a data breach. Then there will be repercussions which companies in the US and EU don’t suffer.
