We all depend upon it and it touches all aspects of our lives. Whether it’s water, a basic need for all living things, animal or vegetable. For mass production of every kind, as steam to heat, steam to clean, or steam to produce electricity. Power which drives hospitals, our financial institutions, our schools, our water supply, our logistics and distribution and lets not forget social media.
So attack CNI, you cause a lot of issues pretty quickly. Add to this cyber security and hacking, then you create an opportunity to cause mischief. We all know that nation state hackers can do damage, proven back in 2010 with the Stuxnet attack and more recently when the US and Russians admitted they were inside each others power networks in 2019 (https://lnkd.in/esNynNu)
So for a nation state such as Iran, it’s just as likely that they are looking at CNI, a high profile target with rapid impact.
