Microsoft has acted against the websites of hackers it and other members of the security community believe have been set up by hackers associated with North Korean. The sites are used by the hackers to mimic those of legitimate companies for a number of basic hacks like identify theft (PII), credential theft and fraud to name 3.

But the underlying challenge of preventing hackers from registering domains names, similar to those of legitimate sites remains a problem.

Training, awareness and vigilance from us all is need to ensure that we don’t get fooled into supporting hackers steel our information needlessly.
