Do what we say, not what we do, seems to be the general consensus for almost every organisation and individual when it comes to cyber security. If the survey results are correct (https://lnkd.in/evjukHN), and to be honest you never know, then it appears that there is still a level of malaise over cyber security for individuals and companies in the US. Which I would say is a general reflection of individuals and companies World Wide.
But looking at the results of the survey one striking point which is born out, is that there appears to be a distinct difference between generations around cyber security. With the older and successful generations, those over 55 taking more care over their financial protection and security that those under.
Is this a millennial issue? With millennial’s being the first pure digital generation, growing up with social media and the internet. Or just a ‘Not my problem – X factor’ issue. Either way it does not bode well for the future unless attitudes can be changed.
