If you live in the US the chances are you will have had your PII stolen. One response will be to give you free credit monitoring. But the volume of hacks is so great you may actually be entitled to 2 or more services already. It’s also of little use, other than to tell you that your PII may have been used to run up a credit card bill, or loan, you didn’t ask for.
But other than cash, what else can be offered to customers to be proactive? Which could better protect both corporate security and consumers. It’s a difficult question and one which has a cost associated with it. But one which may be of more use than a lagging credit monitoring service.
