Call us now:
Cyber is like a balloon, you squeeze in one place and it expands in another. When you secure one industry sector, hackers move to an easier target and Industrial control system’s provide a target. The most dangerous aspect of cyber is not the ability to hack data, it’s the ability to switch things off or on. The physical aspects of cyber are quite simply deadly.
As an ex-ICS engineer I know only to well what can happen if you mess around with Industrial Control Systems. You make things move, start, stop, get hot, cold, open, close, explode. Which can have a range of effects from stopping production through to causing serious injury or death. On the funny side Bulgarian government officials got wet recently but more seriously Target was hacked through their HVAC. ($300Mn)
Companies in the FMCG, pharma, utility, distribution, automotive or aerospace sectors to name a few. Have to focus on securing the shop floor and securing their business systems. With the prospect that a hacker could cause physical damage and logical. Something the financial services sector does not have to consider. But gets a lot of column inches on.
