The number of firms focusing on employee training has fallen, if you look at this along side the lack of skilled cyber resources in the market place, who is going to drive the Ferrari. (Or in some cases Robin Reliant – that’s a British joke)
Cyber is a complex risk, requiring complex solutions to mitigate it. By solutions I don’t mean technology, I refer to holistic solutions of people, process and technology. To resolve cyber security problems you need to have individuals with a mixed set of skills, and having an understanding of the business is one of them. The staff of the company know more than anyone else what is connected to what; what happens when you switch something off or the impact on the company if a supplier stops. Employee training is an important and key component of the cyber jigsaw puzzle.
