The SEC has published an investigation into the link between cyber attacks and financial controls. That in this case a sample of companies reviewed may have been in breech of federal laws in the event of a certain cyber related frauds and the failure of their internal financial controls.
It serves notice that a failure to manage cyber security in relation to financial controls is on their list of hot topics.
