NIS2 does not just affect German companies, its affects companies across all 27 EU member states that have to ratify NIS 2 into local legislation. NIS2 allows national regulators to introduce individual fines against the management responsible for the management of cybersecurity within an organisation and corporate fines.

For covered German executives this means that management of over 30,000 companies are required to demonstrate their organisations can comply with NIS2 cybersecurity requirements. European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) aligned cybersecurity controls with ISO 27001.
