There’s Industrial Revolution, and there’s Industrial Evolution; it’s more likely that AI is taking us on a path of Evolution. As more data comes out that demonstrates that AI is creating more code slop than code perfection.

A recent study found that AI “didn’t reduce work” but “intensified it”, forcing employees to work “at a faster pace” and for longer. The answer is not to fear AI but to ensure we defend workers’ rights and conditions against exploitative employers.

AI is taking us on a journey that will enable the evolution of the workplace. For some, it will be a painful evolution, for others, less so. AI today does not have all the information necessary to replace many jobs, but AI has enough data to help improve worker efficiency and effectiveness. That is, of course, if AI Agents don’t shut down IT infrastructure, or leave it vulnerable due to poor coding and security.
