For anyone who is focused on cybersecurity and what Incumbent president Trump may do, this report is worth a read. Why?FISMA has been a cybersecurity requirement for all Federal Agencies since 2002 and through several updates was a regulation that withstood Former President Trumps 1st term of office. FISMA is a foundation for U.S cybersecurity alongside OMB A-130. It sets out the basic requirements for cybersecurity risk management (NIST SP 800-37), NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53 and several other standards and frameworks for cyber regulatory compliance. It is also a requirement for the SEC. Demonstrating the SEC eats its own cybersecurity dog food, along side the regulations its sets out for capital market regulated organisations. As well as demonstrating the on going maturity of the SECs compliance to cybersecurity risk management over the past few years. One could suggest that Federal government does not need ‘new fancy bottle openers’ when it comes to cybersecurity, it simple needs to enforce the ‘bottle openers’ that it already has at its disposal, along side tools such as the FCA. Stick Chief Officers in every Federal Agency Bob Dix and tell them to manage cyber risk as required by FISMA and DoDi 8510.01 (for the DoD). Cybersecurity is a national security and bi partisan issue after all.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D. McCarthy Faisal Khan Rachel V.
