Call us now:
An important and comprehensive read. As U.S, Canadian, UK, Australian and New Zealand Governments cyber agencies release an advisory on the cyber threat posed by the Peoples Republic of China. Reiterating what was discussed with the U.S House Select Committee on the CCP 31.01.2024.
The advisory highlights the threat posed by Chinese threat actors targeting U.S Critical National Infrastructure. Actors that have successfully compromised critical infrastructure with the aim of gaining a foot hold over CNI. Giving threat actors a foot hold in CNI as geopolitical tensions rise. Actors that are targeting other nations, not just those publishing the advisory.
While the kill chain used by the actors is not new, the mere fact that these agencies have published an advisory, should be enough of a concern about the threat posed. Cyber is one of the biggest threats we face, one that many boards do not understand. It poses a risk to corporate viability at best, at worst national, economic and societal security. As demonstrated by the House presentation last week and the enclosed advisory.
A reason why the EU has focused cyber regulation on CNI through EU NIS 2, The Cyber Resilience Act and Digital Operational Resilience Act.
