Small business is the 99% problem that all countries face with cybersecurity risk management. 99% of all companies in most countries are small businesses, they contribute significantly to tax income and employment. Small businesses are least likely to be unable to afford to implement cybersecurity risk management; least likely to afford cyber insurance; least likely to afford the human capital to implement cybersecurity and they are invariably the companies that the remaining 1% relies upon to deliver products and services.
It is therefore important that government focuses upon the needs of small business cybersecurity. To help them address the challenges with the identification, detection, prevention, response and recovery of, and from, cybersecurity risks.
