The UKs communications regulator, responsible for the oversight of TV, radio and video on demand sectors, fixed line telecoms, mobiles, postal services has confirmed its been hacked as part of the MOVEit campaign, along side BA, the BBC and Boots.
A limited amount of information about certain companies we regulate – some of it confidential – along with personal data of 412 Ofcom employees, was downloaded during the attack, said Ofcom.
The MOVEit supply chain hack seems to be successful, with the Clop group seemingly working its way around those companies that have not addressed the fix. However, with issues being identified with the code into early June and fixes released on the 9th of June, fixes are coming thick and fast.(https://lnkd.in/gU6cY7qp)
The UK is the focus of Russian state and state backed hackers. with attacks exploiting known software vulnerabilities, it maybe prudent to implement patches. You cannot rely on software vendors to implement OWASP and SDLC cyber regulation is still some way off.
