The enclosed report from the Atlantic council is a good read. An acknowledgement of the challenges that securing Critical National Infrastructure from cyber attacks, the need for a risk-based approach for cybersecurity risk management and outlining a potential methodology.

Securing Critical National Infrastructure from cyber attacks is important for our national, corporate and economic security. CNI is complex to secure, requiring individual companies and industry sectors to secure their infrastructure from cyber attack. Considering the impact that cyber attacks have on one sector and the aggregation risks that cybersecurity attacks create across other sectors in important. Aggregation risks that the cyberinsurance and re-insurance industry is very much aware.

The report details a methodology for CNI providers to assess and prioritize cyber security. Setting out a risk framework to evaluate the effects of cyber attacks on CNI OT and IT technology.
