Latitude is a significant listed Fin Tech firm in Australia. This cyber attack and data breach highlights the challenges that digital providers are facing and reinforces the need for cyber regulation. If correct that in this case a ‘back-end infrastructure’ provider may have been the cause of the breach. Enabling login credentials of latitude staff being compromised and the theft of Latitude client data. Cyber regulation can only be expected to increase further.

Third party supplier security is becoming a significant issue for organizations. We are seeing hackers target the less secure third party suppliers of their more secure customers. Enabling access to the same data, in the knowledge that those organizations will be held accountable for the management of cybersecurity.

Only this morning I was speaking at DSEI Japan about U.S DoD DFARS/ CMMC cybersecurity regulations, that should be flowed down through the U.S defense supply chain to secure CUI and defense IP.
