Cloud security is not just a problem for the U.S president it is a problem for all nations and their public and private sector Ted Dziekanowski. Cloud is a very good idea when implemented properly.

The push to the cloud has been seen aa necessity for many organizations, to increase efficient, reduce cost and improve harmonisation of IT infrastructure during globalization. But, as Ted and I have written many times, it is also a security problem if not implemented properly (isn’t everything). Cloud security is a multi dimensional jigsaw puzzle with all stakeholders are involved, from cloud vendors through MSPs, application developers, end users, data controllers and data processors.

Cloud users won’t have read the small print in their cloud contractors and the clauses that discuss the ‘Shared Responsibility’ model. While cloud vendors are responsible for infrastructure security and vetting those that want access to their services. The End user is responsibility for the security of more or less everything else. While cloud vendors provider security services, one has to ask for them, and when one reads the end users responsibility for application and data security they maybe surprised by what they have to do to implement a reasonable level of cybersecurity.

Demonstrated here.

Cloud services are being regulated in the EU and U.S through cybersecurity risk risk management regulation (EU NIS 2.0, DORA, NYDFS).
