Rachel V. Rose, JD, MBA, this is an important step forward for the FTC, highlighting the affect on foreign and domestic vendors of PHR records and third party service providers that maintain information of U.S citizens or residents.

Regulators not just in the U.S, but also the EU are focused on cybersecurity risk management that changes the organizational lens through which cybersecurity is managed. It broadens the duty of care of boards for the management of data that includes personal, health, corporate, financial and IP.

One suspect that this will be an area that gets much more attention, as cybersecurity risk regulation develops.
