If you have 30 minutes this weekend, then this podcast is worth listening to. Clare O’Neil discusses the National Security implications of cyber and the challenges ahead for Australia. Remember that Clare O’Neil has only been in post for 6 months.

It is an open and honest conversation on the Geopolitical cyber issues that Australian citizens face, the need to better ‘statecraft’ to deal with cyber attacks, and dealing with the ‘policy wasteland’ that Australia has faced with cyber policy. Challenges that have been put under the spotlight over the past 3 months with cyber attacks and policy problems that the U.S, EU are also addressing through cyber policy.

Changes such as those being adopted by Australia will have a geopolitical impact on countries and their organisation trading with each other.

In my opinion Clare O’Neil has done more for cybersecurity in 6 months, than many global political leaders in as many years.
