The U.S healthcare sector has been going through some difficult times recently with cyber attacks. It is no surprise therefore that the sector is a focus of cyber regulation and standards setting.

An interesting statement was made. The US is “pretty much last in the race” when it comes to putting in place minimum security standards for critical infrastructure compared to peer countries, Neuberger explained.

Has anyone read any global cyber regulations and standards? I’d suggest that the U.S and EU are both setting the regulatory bar and on the same trajectory with regulations, albeit the neither has formalized attestable standards (SEC Proposal, Strengthening the Nations Cybersecurity, EU NIS 2.0, DORA, Cyber resilience Act). With the Australians pushing up the rear.

But it’s not the regulation that is at issue here, it is execution and compliance.
