One wonders if the size and scale of the operations that China has been exerting on the West to acquire IP, are now starting to be understood by Western security services? The West develops significant amounts of IP that make their way into all our products and services, at a cost. A cost that the East seems to find easy to bypass. Has the U.S Foreign investment act been put in place to manage this specific issue?
Various U.S Senate committees raised concerns in 2021 that the U.S was funding Chinese military development. The U.S and likely other countries appear to be funding much more that Military development.
Ted Dziekanowski is it now time to consider how the West secures its IP and legislate accordingly? Focus on boards ensuring that corporate IP is secured both for investor confidence and where appropriate national security grounds. With appropriate penalties where government funds are used, or systems support government agencies?
